Joelle Buist is a member of the Labour & Flex team. She developed a passion for employment law while studying for her bachelor’s degree in Law. Joelle obtained that bachelor’s degree at Leiden University. She then completed a master’s degree course in Employment Law at VU University Amsterdam. She wrote her master’s thesis on statements made by employees on social media and subsequent dismissal.
During her studies, Joelle completed traineeships at various law firms. She was furthermore active as a board member of a legal study association in Leiden during her student days and worked as a volunteer at the Leiden Children’s and Youth Legal Aid Centre. Joelle was sworn in as a lawyer on 23 August 2023.
