Jacob-Jan Dijkman

Jacob-Jan Dijkman has been practising law since 2011 and specialises in procedural law, contract law and insolvency law. He litigates in disputes concerning the formation, performance, termination, cancellation, conditions, and duration of agreements. His extensive knowledge of insolvency law allows him also to deal with insolvency issues such as directors’ and officers’ liability.

Jacob-Jan temporarily left the legal profession from 2018 to 2020. He worked for Lidl GmbH and GrandVision N.V. as Legal Counsel during that period. His experience in the business world helps him to quickly understand the ins and outs of a company and what needs to be done to achieve results.

After gaining his valuable experience in trade and industry, Jacob-Jan ultimately missed the dynamics of the legal profession: contact with clients, court hearings, solving legal issues and, of course, winning cases for clients. As a litigator at Köster, he’s therefore in the right place.

Jacob-Jan studied Dutch law at the University of Amsterdam and completed the Grotius specialisation course in Domestic and International Contracting in 2018. In 2016, Jacob-Jan also completed the Insolvency Law for Trustees specialisation course. During his studies, Jacob-Jan was actively involved in the Noord-Holland Young Bar Association, also as its chair.
